Akaroa

Von Wanaka ging es wieder zurück nach Christchurch, wo wir erneut in meinem alten Apartment unterkommen konnten.
Als wir am Abend ankamen erzählten wir Rumon von unseren Plänen nach Akaroa zu fahren. Er bot an uns zu fahren, wenn wir ihm im Gegenzug mit dem Benzin helfen könnten.
So fuhren wir am nächsten Tag mit Rumon und Purina nach Akaroa. Auf dem Weg dorthin blieben wir bei den Birdlings Flats stehen, die berühmt für die Vorkommnisse von Gemstones sind. Wir gingen also eine Zeit lang am Strand entlang und Rumon fand tatsächlich ein paar dieser Steine, Weihnachtsgeschenke für seine Familie.
Danach gings dann weiter nach Akaroa. Akaroa ist eine nette kleine Stadt am Meer auf der Banks Peninsula. Berühmt ist sie für ihre französischen Wurzeln und netten alten Gebäuden. Daneben kann man auch Touren buchen um mit Delphinen zu schwimmen oder um die Flora und Fauna zu entdecken.
Wir erkundeten die Stadt und gingen Essen, bevor wir wieder zurück nach Christchurch fuhren.
